October Book Report
"Peek Box"

Materials:
box with lid
construction paper, pipe cleaners, craft objects, etc...
glue

Procedure:

• Cut a hole in the end of the box for a peephole
• Cut a slit in the lid of the box to allow a little light to enter
• Build a scene from your book inside the box. Remember: everything in the box must be handmade!
• Attach everything securely inside the box
• Cover the outside of your box and decorate it. This will also be a part of your grade!! On the outside of the box you must include the title of the book and the author.

Oral Report:
You must prepare one notecard for your oral report. Write the following information on the card:
    title and author of the book
    the main characters
    the setting of the story
A brief summary of the scene you created in your peek box. This
    summary can be only 3 or 4 sentences long.
You do NOT need to memorize this card, but you should practice giving your oral report. Remember, your report should be about 2 minutes long, and it should be interesting.
